SPAM is the economic realization that anything is possible if the distribution of the message is free. That any income, however minor, is still profitable. It’s the equivalent of employing an army of 1,000,000 illegal immigrants, all walking down the street asking people for a quarter.
The content of that SPAM, be it sexual, humorous, or financial is merely a societal reflection staring back at us.
But what if we could use that which is spat upon, as lesson? Buried in the mass attacks are interesting tidbits of learning. Simplistic explanations we can use as resource.
And so I create “Knowledge through SPAM.”
I will look through my SPAM folder, analyze the strategic thinking behind the various profane, humorous, inane emails, and emerge with insights and strategies you can all use to move you brand forward.
I will elevate out of the refuse to create something beautiful. You will never know when a Knowledge through SPAM post will appear. Whatever my reasoning, bored, insane, you WILL know that you probably want it to disappear quickly.
I will sink into topics that seek to discover the PR benefits of saving a boy in Ireland with the brain tumor. Ask whether The Neiman Marcus cookie recipe can teach us anything about marketing to affluent consumers; and if a Free trip to Walt Disney World from Bill Gates just for filling out a survey is a good direct marketing response spiff.
With further research I’ll discuss whether The Booty Call Agreement can be enforced or is it just false advertising? Does The Bill of (no) Rights and The Republican Test teach us anything about marketing to rural communities? And does a person who wants a largrr pen1s spend more time online than a person who needs a breast enlargement? or does he just need CHeEAtP_VIiApGRmA?
And finally, if someone has Eliminate yoùr crediitcard débts and ALL other unsecured deebts do they then purchase more? or are they just in the market for a new m0rtgage at amazingly low rattes? And seriously, can The DEA Survey: Winners Take Drugs Too show us how to advertise using mediums when consumers are stoned?
SPAM can teach us a lot, if we’re only able to listen more closely to what it is trying to tell us.
* If the subtlety in the sarcasm was too oblique for you then you have nothing to worry about. You’ll have a larger penis, bigger breasts and a new mortgage in no time.
